Le Tour chez nous*!

On July 7^th, shortly before 3 p.m., the Tour de France will pass within 1 km of our gîtes, just after Ammeville and right at the bottom of Le Billot hill. Details are at http://www.letour.fr/2011/TDF/COURSE/us/600/etape_par_etape.html

Hard to believe but true: we shall be able to walk to the show – just half a mile! Isn’t this a privilege? And here is another one: on account of the Tour, our roads are getting a facelift, the Conseil général du Calvados wants a grand welcome for the stars of the peloton.

A show for all to see and admire, unlike the recent G8 in nearby Deauville.

Let’s anticipate the pleasure to walk 10 minutes to the Tour, on our small and narrow meandering roads, fragrant with the hay and hawthorn blossoms.
